Three things different about camp in 2010
1) The camp speaker will be the same at every camp.
A few advantages to this plan include: continuity of message, flow of services, strong emphasis on the 2010 camp theme, and surety of ministry for the children.
2010 Kids Camp Speaker
Rev. Kenny Rogers is currently pastoring in San Francisco, CA. He has been married for 26 years, has five children, two in-laws, and two grandsons. Pastor Kenny is a graduate of Bethany Bible College and has been in the ministry for over 30 years. In 1991, he planted a church and soon after a school in the Sunset District of San Francisco.
As a young person growing up in a vibrant Assembly of God church, he was actively involved in children's ministry and has continued to value ministry to children. Hours spent in Children’s Church, Sunday School, Royal Rangers, an outreach bus ministry and Kid’s Camp have contributed greatly to him and his strong support of children’s ministries.
Three criteria determined who was invited as our 2010 Kid's Camp Speaker:
1) Obedient to the move of GOD - It is of highest importance to be sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is doing in the lives of our children and at camp. It can not be about a person only about GOD! God does not need our help just our obedience.
2) Teach the WORD! Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." Style, personality, trends all change! But, all instruction and preaching must be based on the WORD of God for obvious eternal reasons.
3) Loves Children - Matthew 19:14 "Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Children are not adults in small containers. They have an incredible magnificence in who they are right now. So, to minister effectively to these precious ones, there needs to be an evident love and appreciation for them as children of GOD.
Pastor Kenny Rogers has lived a life with fruits to prove it. Kid's camp will be powerful in the presence of God because of the ministry of this year's camp speaker, Pastor Kenny.
2) The children will be given activity choices in the afternoons.
· Physical activity: basketball, kickball, inflatables, swimming, relay games, group games, and hiking (depending on facility)
· Fine Art possibilities: puppets, clowning, drama, singing
· Crafts: dependent upon the camp the children will either have a large project or a different craft for each day.
· When you register online, you may reserve your children's choices to assure there will be room for them. However, they will be able to select at camp as well.
3) We have invited a missionary family to join us for the final two days of camp.
We have wonderful missionaries that are home internerating. They will simply participate with the children in the days activities and sit around the table to visit. Many children never have the opportunity to be around a missionary in a casual setting, this will allow interaction and will give a “face” to BGMC giving and missions.

To be announced at Kid's University!
Children ages 15 & under will be given an opportunity to audition for a new worship band specifically for our Kid's Camp 2010 tour.
Only capable musicians please.
The children will send in a video recording, either by mail or upload, of playing a list of requirements. If accepted the children will be sent a packet with the music, sheet and audio, of the songs to be used at camp. Some of the songs will be public domain songs, but six will be original songs for NCN Kids Camp.
They will be invited to a REHEARSAL/ RECORDING weekend. During this weekend, they will work as a band and then end the weekend with an actual recording. This DVD/CD will be offered for sale at every camp. The recording will have all the songs introduced at camp so the churches can take home all the awesome songs they worshipped with at camp.
Check out the website after Kid's University for the downloadable application. You may have a student in your ministry that will be chosen.
C.I.T.
Counselor In Training! For all the students that are under 18 and are still helping out in children's ministries we have C.I.T. This classification for counselor is necessary because many of our ministries depend on the 13-17 year old to staff our classes. Their energy and enthusiasm is contagious and the children benefit from their participation. These young people could be at an event for themselves, yet they sacrifice their time and resources to assist in Kid's Camp. SO - we will be having something special for these CIT to grow in their relationship with Jesus and to develop leadership skills.
PreTeens
For the upper elementary age student, 6th and 5th graders, we will plan a special activity. Be looking for updates on this category, but know that we see the need and you can highlight this to your children's group.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
Children of 2010 are inundated with technology and information, to be wireless is the norm. This year at camp we will be dealing with that aspect of being transformed - input of minds. Are you aware of where your are plugged in? Be transformed!
