We have recently launched our District Affiliated (Formerly Home Missions) Churches Assistance Program. Through BGMC funds designated for District Affiliated churches and the office of District Churches and District Missions we are able to offer equipment and curriculum to our District Council churches. Upon approval churches are able to receive two items per 12 month period.

The District would like to follow up with young people, ages 8 to 22, who indicate that God has a calling on their life for ministry, in order to periodically encourage and counsel them as they pursue a life of ministry.
The District will arrange for the student to receive correspondence occasionally to encourage them in their Christian walk. Older students will also be invited to an annual District sponsored "Young Ministers' Institute" where they can worship, fellowship, and receive instruction from those in the ministry about discipleship, ministry, and credentialing.
We also ask that an Ordained Minister, such as the Senior Pastor or a Staff Pastor, be designated by the Senior Pastor to serve as a mentor to these students- providing them occasional opportunities to minister, according to their capacity, and by implementing a formal or informal discipling relationship. (Ministers serving as Mentors will receive copies of District correspondence with the student and information about Cultivate the Call events.)

Fingerprinting
This can be done, for a fee, at your local sheriff's department. The results will be sent back to a "lead" person, so you need to select a person who is willing and able to collect and store the
data once it is received (the church secretary is usually a great person to have help in this capacity). This information must be stored in a secure locked location.
Back Ground Check
This is the most important part in keeping your church's children safe and adequately protected. It is advised that at a minimum
this is complete before a volunteer is cleared to help at your church. In addition to its importance it is also the less cumbersome of the two and the least expensive. We recommend going through Volunteer Select to have this done as there is a discount available for Assembly of God churches. (When inquiring about this discount mention the Assemblies of God rate). They are located on the web at: http://www.volunteerselectplus.com/ and can be contacted by phone at (818) 990-4473; an appropriate person to speak with is the account executive. This information will be stored online with Volunteer Select.
